My deepest desire is to use yoga as a tool to help others find the same benefits it had helped me find, and make the world a better place. I especially want to help improve the quality of life for those who are less fortunate. Sharing yoga is my form of community service. I have two specific objectives:
I began teaching at Treehouse 1 month after receiving certification, and ever since then I have offered a charity class every Wednesday at 10:30am called "DoGoodFeelGood Wednesdays" . I offer free yoga and bagels (generously donated by Wholy Bagel each week) in exchange for a charitable donation. 100% proceeds from these classes go to a good cause or charity. Every month I select a new cause to be the beneficiary, and I personally match the donations dollar for dollar.
I also want to help empower other women who might be feeling the same way I did... perhaps experiencing a loss of identity as a mother, wife and/or caretaker, and crave the same desire for peace and inner strength. That's why I offer a Monthly Women's Group on the last Friday of each month from 6:30-8:30pm. It provides females a safe space to practice, cultivate bonds and friendships with positive and supportive women, vent, share snacks and wine (optional) - and most of all, HAVE FUN!
